Love what you're doing, have respect for what you're doing, and be thankful for what you're doing. Nothing can keep this week’s Dish’n Dames feature — Reina Morris, chef and owner of Buenos Aires Café in Austin, Texas — far away from the flavors of home.
When Reina and her family moved from Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1997, her most-treasured memories were often revisited right in her kitchen. A gifted culinarian, Reina began sharing her delectable memories and bright Argentinian flavors with her new friends and family. Soon, her parties and get-togethers were creating a buzz, and she decided her passion would lead her to a career in culinary. Wanting to continue sharing Argentine culture through food with the wider Austin community, she enrolled in the Texas Culinary Academy. Buenos Aires Café opened in November 2005 as the first Argentine restaurant in the Austin area and introduced central Texans to eating the Argentine way. Today, with multiple locations, Reina offers up traditional Argentinian cuisine to the delight of many, featuring empanadas, the famous lomito beef sandwiches, as well as desserts and much more — all made with the freshest organic ingredients. |
