Its the guest that bring me the passion to do this, I'm grateful that the customers choose to go to see us. When you decided to come to Miriam Cocina Latina and eat with us, I say "Thank you". She is the consummate restaurateur — engaged with her guests, obsessed with every detail, passionate about representing the culinary roots of each place she has called home: Dominican Republic, Mexico and Dallas. She is the first to say she isn’t a “professional chef” but she “loves to cook” — and will humbly offer credit to her mentors, partners and team when asked about her success.
But Miriam Jimenez is nothing short of a brilliant juggernaut of culinary excellence and hospitality who is guiding her namesake restaurant, Miriam Cocina Latina, into a legacy she can call her own. Miriam, along with partner Shannon Wynne, opened Miriam Cocina Latina in May 2019 in the Dallas Arts District neighborhood situated on downtown’s Klyde Warren Park. Well-known for her welcoming embraces, infectious smile and world-class hospitality, Miriam has taken her years of culinary management experience and the bright, memorable flavors of Latin culture and created an elevated experience that is both welcoming and adventurous. “Opening Miriam Cocina Latina is the most exciting and rewarding experience in my life. I’m excited to dedicate myself to the food and hospitality industry I love,” says Miriam. “Guests can expect exotic flavors and zingy cocktails in a relaxed atmosphere with a friendly and knowledgeable staff.” Offerings include shared plates, soups, salads, tacos, enchiladas, combination plates, main courses and desserts from Mexico with vegetarian options. A combination of authentic dishes and new creations are prepared using fresh ingredients as well as house-made sauces and moles prepared with bold, aromatic chiles. The clever cocktail menu showcases a broad selection of margaritas in addition to rum and Mezcal libations, a curated list of white and red wines available by the glass as well as Mexican and local beers. Artwork by local artist Brent Hale and The Miles Sisters don the walls of the completely renovated space with a clever game of “I Spy” incorporated into the ceiling mural. But, it is Miriam who is at the heart of why people love to visit Miriam Cocina Latina. Her passion and promise to deliver an outstanding experience for every guest, her attention to detail and respect for her staff and the work it takes to deliver on such a promise resonates the moment you enter the doors. |
