I think as women, we have a unique presence that we bring to the culinary world. We're a little more nurturing and I think that the shift in the industry, with caring more about your team, has been lead more by women than by the men. And that 's been a really neat thing to watch." A native Texan, Janelle Reynolds has over 15 years of extensive experience in the Austin culinary world. Reynolds began her food career as an honors graduate at the Texas Culinary Academy and has since spent her time at some of Austin’s favorite restaurants, such as Starlite, Sienna, The Driskill Grill, Vespaio, and Bess Bistro, where she was executive chef and led all aspects of the kitchen operations in the high profile, celebrity-owned restaurant. In 2013, Reynolds joined Dinner Lab as chef de cuisine and regional manager, overseeing Austin and San Antonio locations where she was responsible for menu development and served as head chef at the exclusive pop-ups. Most recently, Reynolds served as chef and co-owner alongside her husband at @t Large, a company focusing on catering and event planning with other services, such as private cooking classes and restaurant consulting.
Reynolds joined Chameleon Companies’ latest neighborhood restaurant, Rosedale Kitchen and Bar, leading the kitchen as executive chef for the opening in July 2019. At Rosedale, Reynolds is creating vibrant, fresh, and healthy dishes mixed with American comfort foods and a touch of Texas flair. Through her years of experience, Reynolds has earned recognition in the Austin culinary scene and has become one of Chef’s Table Austin’s strongest supporters. She lives in Austin with her husband, Chef Jayson Reynolds, and her son. In her free time, Reynolds enjoys spending time in the kitchen and with her family. |
