I hope to see more general managers that are women, and that it is more respected. After more than 10 years in the service industry, Illinois native Emily O’Connor is no stranger to the hustle and bustle of the restaurant world. As Juliet Italian Kitchen’s general manager and event coordinator, O’Connor directs the staff and oversees restaurant operations while helping to plan special events for customers.
Prior to joining the Juliet family and during her time at Western Illinois University, O’Connor discovered her passion for event planning through an internship for community nonprofits. When working alongside these organizations, she realized the pure joy that comes through planning a stellar event while acquiring the critical attention to detail and organizational skills needed to plan and execute a successful event. Coupled with her experience across a number of server positions—where she gained firsthand knowledge of the hospitality industry—O’Connor brings years of expertise, drive and passion to managing Juliet. When O’Connor isn’t busy managing the restaurant or planning its next big event, she enjoys live music, cooking, reading, kickboxing and spending time with family and friends. |
