I don't really like the term "female chefs". We're "chefs", put that out there. don't be a "female chef", be a chef it's what you are. Sous chef Cassie Ramsey was born with a passion for all things food. Originally from Bedford, Texas, but raised in a small town just north of San Diego, California, Cassie’s taste for culinary is rooted in family.
She gives credit to her grandparents for sharing their passion for cooking with her. Experts in their own kitchen, Cassie’s grandparents helped introduce Cassie to a world of endless flavors and combinations. They helped encourage and inspire her, leading her toward a career in culinary and providing a solid understanding of cooking for her, as well. She returned to her native Texas to follow her culinary dreams at the Art Institute of San Antonio. Graduating with an associate degree in 2014, she launched her career at Lüke San Antonio while making and selling both fresh and cured artisanal Spanish chorizo at local farmers markets. Now the sous chef at Mixtli, Cassie explores the history and culture of Mexican cuisine with a unique finesse and approach. She continues to be passionate about learning and exploring new flavors, fully appreciating every facet and aspect of cooking. |
