Michelle’s Patisserie is an Austin-born, custom bakery specializing in amazing designs with unforgettable flavors with a commitment to giving back to the community.
Michelle Doyon, founder of Michelle’s Patisserie, started baking as a teenager, entering baked goods in the New Mexico County Fair and baking for family and friends. She went on to Smith College and received her BA in Psychology, and then decided to pursue her passion for the culinary arts. She moved to San Francisco and worked under Traci des Jardin of Jardiniere as a pastry cook, where she gained invaluable experience in flavor combinations.
Michelle moved to Austin in 2001 to be closer to her family. She always turned to baking for her happiness in life and in 2002 she founded Michelle’s Patisserie by converting her garage into a commercial kitchen. She worked from home for 7 years while her daughters were young. Then her HOA asked her to leave the neighborhood for having too many happy customers, so she found the storefront where she has been now for over 12 years.
Through years of dedication and commitment to high quality desserts and great customer service, Michelle’s Patisserie has earned the reputation of one of Austin’s best custom cake shops and best wedding cake bakeries. Michelle has been inducted into the Knot Hall of Fame for having had years of 5-star reviews from brides. She has received the “Best of Tasting” award multiple times at the regional cake competition “That Takes the Cake”. Michelle has also competed twice on Food Network competitions. Michelle believes in serving her community and gives to schools, non-profit organizations, and fundraising events year-round. She also rents her commercial kitchen to other women starting out their businesses in the culinary field. Michelle absolutely loves what she does and wants to spread happiness to those around her.
