I enjoy creating things. I enjoy creating the ambience, the experience, the hospitality. So for me it was actually less about creating meringues so much as it was, there was a business and a concept that I wanted to bring to the world that I thought was missing in Austin. So for me that drive is to create this holistic entity that everyone loves.
Owner and founder of Fluff Meringues & More, Kristin Collins, started an award-winning career in baking at the tender age of eight when she won a baking contest for her chocolate pecan pie. Baking alongside her mother as she grew up in the Texas panhandle, Kristin developed a passion for baking that she carried with her — no matter her travels.
After studying advertising, she moved overseas to acquire a master’s degree in international relations. Living in Manchester and London inspired Kristin to seek even more global adventures to study different cultures, cuisines and people.
A well-traveled world citizen, Kristin returned to the United States in 2010 to continue her studies with an second master’s degree in management. Together with her experiences, her love of food, travel and business knowledge, Kristin founded Fluff Meringues & More in Austin, Texas.
Her goal: Create quality artful treats with thoughtfully sourced ingredients and a socially responsible long-term business plan that allowed her to give back to local and international communities in need.
